Privacy, Immersive Technologies and the Metaverse
2024

The USCIB Foundation and Business at OECD (BIAC) launched a joint report to highlight the promise of the metaverse from a business perspective in the context of the OECD Privacy Guidelines and data governance issues.  The report was the culmination of four roundtables on four continents with tech experts, NGOs, and advocates to explore the privacy implications of the metaverse. The goal of this initiative was to reach the best possible privacy solutions in the most practical way.

2017

USCIB collaborated with Business at OECD (BIAC) and OECD on a series of conferences to address the impact of the digital economy. Discussions examined elements of an enabling environment for digital transformation — everything from investment and innovation, to “light touch” regulation, to cross-border data flows, among other topics — to consider how stakeholders can constructively contribute to the development of policies that create such an environment.

2014

USCIB, Business at OECD (BIAC) and OECD partnered for an event focused on cutting-edge ICT issues. This conference convened business and government for discussions on challenges facing U.S. companies against a backdrop of rapidly changing technologies, and how emerging technologies such as big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT) create opportunities and can be optimized through risk-based approaches to privacy and security.
